Our lessons are catered specific to your goals. Classes are perfect for the currently enrolled interior design student, or new designer looking to make a career change. Here we teach you the educational software programs needed to start building your own custom designs.
How it started...
Welcome to the world of interior design! While most people think of this as a fun career where we decorate and stage beautiful homes, we are actually just as technical as we are aesthetic! Interior design is a combination of creating beautiful interiors, but we make sure all designs abide by local building codes, and we use technical programs in order to convey the designs and dimensions with all construction trades. So, if you're interested in a career in interior design, you'd need to know how to read, interpret, and create floor plans and other construction plans!

How do you know if interior design lessons are right for you?
Hudson HomeRoom is an educational platform from KHDS that teaches aspiring interior designers all the tools they need in order to have a successful interior design career. We teach students that are currently enrolled in Interior Design degree programs, current interior designers who are looking to brush up on their technical skills, as well as aspiring designers who are making a career change or starting their own practice. There is no age too early or too late to start learning!
First we draw, and then we build!
Technical drawings are our way of conveying our design goals to the construction team in a way that's easy for the them to build. Everything that we draw, is built according to our dimensions and material specifications. We use drafting programs and 3d modelling programs in order to draw the designs which are then built and installed by construction trades. An example is a custom cabinet for our client's home office that was built below. The designer is responsible for drawing how the custom pieces will look, as well as selecting the materials, paint colors, wood selections and all pertinent details that are needed in order to built the client's desired look. Our client LOVED the finished product!
